That insight hit me the same way when I first grasped it. We're so good at celebrating the cross as God's love for us (which it absolutely is!) but we often miss that it also reveals the devastating seriousness of what our sin cost Him.
When both truths sink in together, it's impossible to remain proud about our spiritual progress. Grace becomes even more amazing!
