You Need Not Remain Unsaved Another Moment
The Immediacy of Salvation for Those Who Come to Christ

You could be saved right now—not someday when you’ve achieved sufficient spiritual maturity, not eventually when you’ve worked up adequate remorse, not later when you’ve proven your sincerity—but right now, this very moment, exactly as you are.
Salvation is immediately available to anyone who comes to Christ in genuine faith.
Here’s the liberating truth that many struggling sinners never hear clearly: you need not remain a moment longer unsaved. Not one more second. Not one more minute. Not one more hour. If you’re willing to come to Christ as a lost sinner trusting Him as your only Savior, salvation is yours immediately.
Think about what this means. You don’t have to spend weeks or months or years preparing yourself to come to Christ. You don’t have to achieve a certain level of spiritual feeling before you’re qualified to approach Him. You don’t have to work up sufficient remorse, generate adequate repentance, or produce acceptable faith through your own effort.
Christ came to seek and save the lost—and you’re lost. He came to call sinners to repentance—and you’re a sinner. He died on Calvary’s cross to save you specifically. Everything necessary for your salvation has already been accomplished. The price has been paid. The way has been opened. The invitation has been extended. The only question is whether you’ll accept what He’s offering.
But here’s what trips up many people: they think they need to become more spiritual before they come to Christ, when actually they need to come to Christ to become more spiritual. They’re waiting to feel sorry enough, when they should come to Him to receive the gift of repentance. They’re trying to generate sufficient faith, when they should come to Him to receive faith as His gift.
Let me tell you about someone who wasted years in this trap. She knew she was a sinner. She wanted to be saved. She believed Jesus died for sinners. But she kept thinking, “I need to get more serious about this. I need to feel worse about my sin. I need to be more committed before I come to Him.”
Then one day someone asked her, “If Christ came to save sinners, and you’re a sinner, why are you waiting? If He died for people exactly like you, why are you trying to become something different before you come to Him? If He promises to save all who come, why are you delaying?”
That simple question broke through years of confusion. She realized she didn’t need to prepare herself to come to Christ—coming to Christ was the preparation. She didn’t need to become savable before being saved—Christ makes sinners savable by His grace. She didn’t need to wait another moment—salvation was available immediately through faith in Him.
Here’s the declaration every perishing sinner can make right now: “I am a lost sinner, but Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. He says He came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance—and I’m a sinner. He died on Calvary’s cross to save me. He rose again for my justification. He will save me now if I come to Him in faith.”
Notice the immediacy: “He will save me now.” Not eventually. Not someday. Not after I’ve proven myself. Now. This very moment. Today. Immediately upon trusting Him.
Why is this possible? Because Christ died and rose again for your justification. The work necessary for your salvation is already complete. You’re not waiting for Him to do something—He’s waiting for you to accept what He’s already done. You’re not preparing yourself to be saved—you’re coming to the One who saves sinners just as they are.
This is why Scripture says, “Now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). Not tomorrow. Not next week. Not when you feel more spiritual. Now. Today. This moment.
But here’s what this requires: coming to Christ as you are. Not as you wish you were. Not as you think you should be. Not as you hope to become. But as you actually are right now—a lost sinner who needs saving and can’t save yourself.
Consider what Christ promises: He will save you now. Not might save you. Not could save you if you meet certain conditions. Will save you—if you come to Him trusting Him as your only hope. The promise is certain, the invitation is clear, the way is open. The only question is whether you’ll accept what He’s offering.
So why remain unsaved another moment? Why delay when salvation is available now? Why wait when Christ is ready to receive you immediately? Why put off until tomorrow what can happen today?
If you recognize yourself as a lost sinner—and you are. If Christ came to save sinners—and He did. If He died for you—and He did. If He promises to save all who come to Him—and He does. Then come to Him now. Not after you’ve prepared yourself better. Not when you feel more spiritual. Not someday when you’re more ready. Now. This moment. Today.
Accept the forgiveness He promises. Receive the salvation He offers. Trust the Savior who died and rose for you. You need not remain a moment longer unsaved.
“Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation.’” - 2 Corinthians 6:2
